Connecting with patients on any level and speaking in a clear, straightforward yet empathetic way, is my communication style. Being entirely fluent in Spanish has enabled me to connect with more patients than I ever imagined. One of the best compliments I ever received from a patient was "you're really a regular guy who happens to be a doctor". This compliment means so much to me because I believe as a physician, communication is paramount. I also feel that earning your trust and respect starts with "walking the talk" in living a healthy lifestyle. I am an avid exercise enthusiast with a strong interest in sports medicine, which helps not only athletes but patients with any type of pain.
As a family medicine physician, with almost 20 years of experience in handling all types of chronic illnesses and doing numerous office procedures, I feel very confident in being your "quarterback" - the doctor who can handle multiple complex issues and coordinate care with the entire healthcare team. In partnering with MDVIP, my family medicine practice allows me to have the time to focus on wellness and prevention. Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
