I take a medication for type II diabetes and if I have to stop taking it I will probably have to go on insulin which is a step I definitely wish to avoid. For two months the manufacturer was unable to supply the medication to pharmacies. The RN at Dr. Harper's practice took action without even being asked to identify and work with the manufacturers representee to locate sample boxes to hold me until the supply chain was back to normal. We brought Mom to Dr. Harper a few years ago after she expressed feelings of 'not feeling heard' by her former physician. Soon after seeing the kindest doctor ever (Dr. Harper), he dove just a little bit deeper into Mom's complaints... and found that she had cancer. Had Mom continued with her former physician, her diagnosis would certainly have been delayed and treatment may have looked very different than it does today. Mom is maintaining well and her cancer is at bay! Dr. Harper gave her life. He gave us Mom for a while longer. I went to a regular doctor for years prior to Dr Harper and the MDVIP program. I was diagnosed with diabetes and was prescribed medications that made me feel sick every day. One of the medications was actually causing me a sever reaction that sent me to the ER several times, On my 6month return visits there seemed to be no solution except keep trying at a lower dose. After signing up with Dr Harper and on my very first visit he began to evaluate my medications and made changes. After a day of taking them, Dr harper reached out to me to see how I was feeling. On next visit He had lab work done and made more changes. After being with Dr Harper for 4 years i can honestly say that this is the norm. He looks at how effective the medications are at controlling my ailments as well as how they make me feel. Every visit is like he is finely tuning my meds to ensure their effectiveness as well as what side effects if any that there may be. As if that was not enough, Dr Harper absolutely blew my mind and asked if he could pray for me. After 4+ years of being in his care with monthly visits (yes i said it correctly MONTHLY) visits, he has prayed for me after each and every visit. Any Dr who cares for people in this way is a caliber above, to add the fact that this Dr humbles himself in prayer to God makes him a hero in my book. The world needs more Dr Byron Harpers and I am extremely grateful to have him. I also want to add that his staff is no exception to this treatment. Every person you encounter in his office from the receptionist to the nurses are absolutely professional, sincere, & courteous.

I utilize an approach that champions the patient-physician partnership. In a relaxed,
unhurried environment during your visits, we will take the necessary time to help make sure there is a mutual understanding between us so that you are knowledgeable about your health options and assured that I understand your concerns and needs. This includes a personalized healthcare plan focused on helping you to reach your goals by tailoring wellness, prevention, treatment and primary care specifically to you and your needs!

A graduate of Emory University School of Medicine, I am a second-generation internal
medicine physician, board certified by the American Board of Medicine. Growing up in
both Coweta County and Fayette County and having practiced for over 30 years in the South Atlanta region, I have deep roots and understanding in the culture and uniqueness of these communities and the families who live here. I currently practice in Peachtree City, Georgia, and I am affiliated with Piedmont Fayette Hospital. I also serve as the Medical Director for Southwest Christian Care, a non-profit hospice facility in South Fulton County, for over 25 years. My special interests and experience include,
cardiovascular health, diabetes, hypertension, preventive care and nutrition.

You can be assured that my staff and I will strive to go above and beyond to care for
you as a person, support you and work with you to help you achieve your personal health goals and enjoy a healthier life. Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
