John C. Langley, MD

My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

After my wife and I completed our medical training in Michigan, we returned to my home town of Naples, Florida, to practice clinic-based primary care. In 1989, we established a family practice office on Marco Island which we shared until she passed away. I then relocated to Key West where I worked at several primary care clinics and covered the practices of other physicians while they were away. In 2000, I started my Doctor on Call Service which catered to the needs of the many travelers visiting Key West. I became the designated physician on call for our many hotels and guest houses. I also treated many of our local and seasonal residents in their homes and continue to do so when requested. I returned to clinical practice in 2013, providing urgent care and primary care services at Key West Urgent Care, where I have been the Medical Director since 2014. Having provided health care in a variety of medical venues has given me knowledge and created good working relationships with our local specialty medical providers. Prompt, appropriate referrals will be accomplished when needed. It is my firm belief that when hospital care is required, it should be provided by the appropriate specialists.

It has always been important to me to take the necessary amount of time with my patients; not only to review and analyze their current medical needs, but to get to know them on a personal level. My affiliation with MDVIP will allow for this critical encounter with fixed appointment times in a comfortable and relaxed office setting, the ability to make same or next day appointments as well as being able to reach me 24/7. It has always been my goal to treat my patients as I would wish for myself or my family. This philosophy, combined with thorough symptom-based physical examination, allows me to provide an accurate diagnosis and proper therapeutic measures. I consider these to be the most important qualities and strengths that I possess as a physician and health and wellness care provider.

I believe in encouraging my patients to pursue an active and healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and an organic diet whenever possible. With the MDVIP Annual Wellness Program and regular medical follow up visits, my patients can enjoy the beautiful natural environment of the Lower Keys. I see patients in Monroe County, from Key West to Big Pine Key, with regular office hours, as well as after hours and weekend home visits if necessary.
