My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

As an internal medicine physician with subspecialties in endocrinology and geriatric medicine, I am able to work proactively with my patients to help them prevent disease and live healthier, more active lives. Patients appreciate the extra time I am able to spend getting to know them on a personal level. With my small practice size, I am also able to research challenging medical conditions and personally follow up with specialists to promote quicker and better outcomes.

Dr. Ruxin is available when needed, indeed every time we are in direct contact. No exceptions. He is an excellent doctor in all respects.

from Dianne in CT March 11, 2020 for Robert L. Ruxin, MD

My Father, while visiting from Florda, was taken ill and hospitalized. During that entire seven week time span, he was seen by numerous professionals for testing. Dr Ruxin was kind enough to oversee his care and further help monitor his after-care hospitalization. He and his staff made room in their busy schedule to help me with my Father's care, something I was so relieved and… See more

from Jeffrey March 26, 2017 for Robert L. Ruxin, MD

As we live longer, the number of medical concerns we encounter seem to multiply. Sometimes they relate to what appear to be minor conditions and yet they create anxiety. As an older man who is used to being in control professionally, I nevertheless become nervous about my health. Dr. Ruxin is just the medicine that I needed when I moved to CT last year. He inspires confidence and his… See more

I would like to share a story about my doctor and MDVIP. I have always valued Dr. Ruxin's availability and knowledge, but on a recent trip to Ireland I fully realized how lucky I am to have access to my doctor when I need him. Being a type one diabetic has always meant travel can be difficult, but on this trip I got very ill with a stomach virus. Dr. Ruxin worked with me and my wife to… See more

I became a patient if Dr. Ruxin approximately three years ago, upon the recommendations of friends. I have two occasions when his clinical knowledge and his willingness to speak with me were exceptional. I want to share both experiences. One was shown upon a routine annual exam involving a variety of analysis of urine and stool samples along with a complete blood work up. Microscopic blood… See more

from Shirley A. in CT February 12, 2014 for Robert L. Ruxin, MD

Dr. Ruxin has been my Primary Care Physician for 35+ years and I trust him completely. He is not only my PCP but my friend. Thanks to him and his referrals to specialists, 9 years ago it was discovered I had a brain aneurysm. I had surgery with no side affects. He is the best as is his office staff. Knowing I can reach him any time of the day or night, in or out of the USA, is very… See more
