Medical Director

Bernard Kaminetsky, MD, FACP

A cofounder of MDVIP and the second physician to open an MDVIP-affiliated practice, Dr. Kaminetsky served eight years as an MDVIP affiliate. He was the first to participate in MDVIP’s physician retirement program when he left clinical practice in 2008 to become the company’s first medical director. Dr. Kaminetsky is also a national spokesperson for the company.

“All the problems physicians face today were present when we started two decades ago: Doctors don’t have enough time with patients to take care of anything more than chronic problems or acute exacerbations thereof, there’s little focus on wellness and prevention, and reimbursements are going down while doctors work harder and harder.”

A passionate advocate for preventive care and wellness at the federal level, Dr. Kaminetsky has testified before Congress’ Joint Economic Committee and is a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. A graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a former assistant professor at New York University School of Medicine, Dr. Kaminetsky is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology. Prior to cofounding MDVIP, he was a founding partner of a primary care practice in Boca Raton, Florida.

To stay fit, Dr. Kaminetsky runs 35 to 40 miles a week. He also enjoys family time with his wife, three married children and grandchildren.

Those challenges drove Dr. Kaminetsky to develop the MDVIP model, where physicians see fewer patients in their primary care practices and have time to focus on prevention and develop closer relationships.

“Physicians can attain professional gratification with tangible financial benefits—instead of being burnt out and dissatisfied with large patient volumes,” Dr. Kaminetsky says. “The MDVIP model has realized its promise beyond what we ever contemplated.”
