Mr. Matthew Hashem, Chief Financial Officer of MDVIP Inc., the national leader in affordable personalized healthcare, was honored as being among the leading CFOs in South Florida. The acknowledgement, presented by the South Florida Business Journal, recognizes local CFOs who are innovators, strategists and pioneers in the marketplace.

Mr. Hashem relocated from Boston to join the company as VP of Finance in 2005. The following year, at the age of 34, he was promoted to CFO. During his tenure, he has also served as Secretary and Treasurer of MDVIP’s Board of Directors at the country’s largest network of primary care physicians focused on preventive, personalized healthcare. Currently, the company has more than 830 affiliated physicians serving more than a quarter of a million patients across the U.S.

“I’m honored to be recognized by the local media for the work we’ve done, but our success truly has been a team effort,” Mr. Hashem says. “The work of the entire MDVIP organization has helped us succeed in making MDVIP the leader in the personalized healthcare field.”

From sales to operations to working with affiliated physicians, Mr. Hashem’s involvement across the organization has driven market penetration and growth for customers across the country. Under his financial leadership, MDVIP grew from a small local Boca Raton healthcare start-up into a nationally recognized brand that currently leads the personalized medicine marketplace by all measures – physicians, members, revenues and patient satisfaction. When he arrived in 2005, MDVIP had 30,000 members while today it exceeds more than 250,000 members.

In the community, Mr. Hashem helped foster the MDVIP Foundation, which supports such healthcare initiatives as reducing childhood obesity by helping raise awareness of healthy eating for school-age children; supporting Doctors in Response, which organizes medical treatment to respond quickly, provide relief and help improve the lives of those in need both domestically and abroad; and increasing the number of future primary care physicians in the U.S. by connecting MDVIP physician mentors with medical students. Mr. Hashem also volunteers as a guest lecturer for Florida Atlantic University’s Executive MBA Program, sharing his experience from working with entrepreneurial start-up companies, developing growth plans, and raising capital.  He also gives back to the community by volunteering for Junior Achievement, sharing his life experiences.

“We are thrilled that Matt is getting recognition he deserves outside our organization and our industry. He’s one of those CFOs who never loses sight of the big picture, for the company, our affiliated physicians, and their patients,” says Mr. Bret Jorgensen, CEO of MDVIP. “Matt is a strategic partner across every area of the business, helping our people and the organization drive long-term value. That’s Matt’s philosophy, and we’re a better organization because of it.”
