My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

As a family physician, I've always had an idealistic view of how I should care for my patients. As we get to know each other and are faced with new challenges, I'll often share stories of my own personal struggles and experiences to make you feel safe, empathized with, and respected. That's simply because I genuinely care and value the opportunity to stand with you, whether it's a challenge or a celebration.

While the current model of health care too often fragments our doctor-patient relationships, personalized health care can actually happen!

I'm excited to have found a solution for providing health care in the most idealistic and elastic form I can imagine. In my MDVIP-affiliated practice, I look forward to spending time with you and empowering you with the knowledge and tools you need to tackle your goals for overall health and happiness.

To me the greatest compliment a primary care physician can be given is when a patient says "You're MY doctor!". When you feel that way, you know you are getting the expertise of your physician's knowledge base combined with the human I am, a guy who cares and thinks about you and your situation as if you were my family member.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. McKenzie

from Mendi in AR March 1, 2018 for Allan McKenzie, MD

I was a single mom of two for almost ten years. I have always worked extremely hard to provide for my children...even working three jobs while going to school for awhile! But, I have always struggled in the workplace with staying on task, completing assignments in a timely manner, staying organized, and even completing sentences! I felt very dumb and self conscious anytime I had to talk to… See more

I am truly fortunate to have Dr. Mckenzie as my treating physician. From our first meeting I have appreciated his talent, knowledge, expertise, and, most importantly, how much he cares about his patients. Major thanks also to Shannon and Christina for their outstanding contributions. And Bella makes everybody happy when they visit the office.

Dr. McKenzie has been such a caring and understanding Doctor. I lost my husband of 47 years and my grief was almost more than I could bear. This past year has been a very extremely hard year for me and I don't think I would have made it through if it had not been for his concern and care. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and gotten pneumonia several times and spent several… See more

Dr. Allen McKenzie has gone above and beyond in this 5 year long journey trying to figure out what is wrong with me. Chronically ill for most of my adult life, bedridden these last few years, he has always been patient and has taken the time to listen which is really the most important thing to someone who feels so frustrated and unheard in the medical world. He is my advocate and I recommend… See more
