My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

In my internal medicine practice, I strive to provide primary care in a calm and compassionate manner. I chose to become a primary care physician because it enables me to better evaluate and treat my patients as a whole throughout their adult life. In my MDVIP-affiliated practice, I have the opportunity to provide personalized options to formulate a plan for each of my patients that supports prevention and wellness.

MDVIP’s Annual Wellness Program includes advanced screenings and tests which allow us to better detect certain medical issues early on. I have more time during each visit, as well as a long-term relationship with each patient, which will give me the ability to recall unique situations that may affect wellness and recognize early stages of disease. I also offer conveniences, like same- or next-day appointments that start on time, which may be found in concierge medicine practices. I will act as your personal physician, coordinating your medical care with other healthcare providers as well as stay in touch with my patients and their families.

I live and work in the community of Somers, New York, and am an attending physician at Northern Westchester Hospital and Putnam Hospital Center. I look forward to providing personalized health care services to adults in my community, and to those in the surrounding areas of Northern Westchester and Putnam Counties.

My best description concerning my experience with Dr. Nicora over the past twelve years comes from the 'Urban Dictionary' regarding the phrase, "I've got your back".

The Urban Dictionary's definition of "I've got your back" is as follows:

"An expression assuring someone that you are watching out for them. Comes from making sure… See more

Dr. Nicora listens, asks the right questions, considers and figures out a solution. My hypothyroidism is under control now, and there have been other issues he's resolved for me. I have total confidence in Dr. Nicora and am glad to be the patient of such a skilled and caring physician.

I was first reccomended to Chris by my Acupuncturist. She told me of a doctor that was interested in how different paradigms of healing might work together. I am in recovery for over 20 years and in Dr. Nicora I found an individual who understood on a human, clinical and intellectual level what it took to be a complete he-man being. I these times of scattered excess I found the doctor to be a… See more

from Tim in NY March 12, 2020 for Christopher B. Nicora, MD

I had been to many doctors and was always treated poorly whether it be being rushed, judged, or just cold. He treats me like a real person. I’m not afraid to ask him about my medications and he just treats me like a human being it is so refreshing after avoiding doctors due to several terrible experiences. I have many different areas of needs medically and he puts me at ease to discuss them… See more

from William in NY March 12, 2020 for Christopher B. Nicora, MD

This past January, I was ill for more than 2 weeks. I saw Dr Nicora at least 3 times. He was always available the same day that I needed him. He saw me through a rough patch. I have also contacted him via text messages with questions and he responds almost immediately.

from Thomas in NY March 11, 2020 for Christopher B. Nicora, MD

Dr. Nicora after many times of conversation convinced me to see a Urologist after testing for prostate cancer. His diagnosis was right on the money and after seeing the Urologist that he recommended, I am now cancer free and in all probability Dr. Nicora was very instrumental in saving my life. He simply would not give up on me and he now knows just how thankful I am for his "never say never"… See more

Dr. Nicora is a very special Doctor. He never rushes, is always pleasant, always takes time to discuss concerns and is the 1 in a hundred doctors to actually cares about his patients. He is a true gem and I'm lucky to have found him.
