My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

Every morning we wake up to our own reality show. Our accomplishments embody who we are and define our goals and achievements. My experiences previously in the entertainment industry and now as an internal medicine physician have shown me that regardless of our dreams and aspirations, our health is of paramount importance to each of us.

As your MDVIP-affiliated physician, I will be fully committed to creating a personalized healthcare plan to treat your current health problems and help you prevent new ones. We will work together, using an integrative approach, to formulate a wellness plan for you, with an emphasis on prevention.

I am currently affiliated with Lankenau Medical Center, conveniently located between downtown Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs to include Wynnewood, Bala Cynwyd and the Main Line. As a board-certified Internal Medicine physician, I have practiced within the Main Line Health System for over 15 years. I have relationships with physicians in all subspecialties and the tools necessary to help you navigate through the ever-changing healthcare system. I look forward to providing you with an optimal healthcare experience so that you can live your life to your fullest potential.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Targan

from Chris in PA April 7, 2024 for David A. Targan, DO, FACP

So happy I switched to DrTargan. Not only is he thorough, knowledgeable, experienced and down to earth, he takes his time at your appointment even if that just means listening to all the BS life is throwing at you. I am a retail pharmacist and see patients every single day frustrated, not being able to get a sick visit, rushed at their appointments, being told to go to urgent care,… See more

So, my G/P is Dr. David Targan (whom I strongly believes the best doctor around). Anyway, I had some heart issues during the past summer-fall (leading to some more stents in my heart at Lankenau Hospital in November). Dr. Targan's expert advice to my rescue, once again. During that process, I once made an off-hand remark to Dr. Targan in an office visit, that my son in Colorado also… See more

For approximately the last 10 years I’ve experiencing issues in my right hand. It became very uncomfortable while preparing a cross country move. I had to return which I frequently do to PHL for business. Dr T, (as we lovingly refer to him), was able to get me appointment, with barely 24 notice, with an excellent orthopedic surgeon who was able to see me while I was there, (12 hours), and… See more

Dr. David Targan is myself and my husbands physician. My husband has a lot of physical disabilities and I am his care giver. Dr Targan worries about me my health and mental stability dealing with being a care giver. He checks on me often to make sure I am ok because he says he knows it’s not easy. Dr Targan does not realize how much that means to me. That he really cares. He is a good man it… See more
