My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

I have always loved the very personal connection I make with my patients as a primary care physician. I view my interactions to be conversations, and often share my own healthcare successes and experiences with my patients. I feel that when you really know someone you can help them in a far more meaningful way. In an era when healthcare is segmented into brief interactions by multiple “providers”, the MDVIP model allows me to continue having productive long-term relationships to help my patients help themselves. I always prefer to use medication as a last resort and look at lifestyle alternatives first. The preventive focus of MDVIP gives me the tools to continue to guide and encourage patients towards a healthier lifestyle. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments that start on time.

As a long-time New Jersey resident, I have seen the changes to healthcare and want to be a part of the solution. I think that for many people, personalized healthcare is that solution. While the main focus of my practice is prevention, as an internal medicine physician I often treat a wide variety of chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiac disease, as well as digestive disease, COPD and women’s health issues in menopause. As a physician on staff at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center and a volunteer Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical school, I work with many specialists located in the Princeton, Cranbury, West Windsor, Plainsboro, East Windsor and Monroe Township areas. By allowing me to focus on quality instead of quantity interactions with patients, MDVIP allows me to blend “old fashioned medicine” with new technologies, bringing a new level of care to patients. The motto we chose when we opened our practice in 2004 was “Medicine, the way it should be.” I truly believe that MDVIP is exactly that.

There is no better doctor for me than Dr. Bowers. I know I’m in good hands under her care. Her bedside manner cannot be beat, she is kind, professional and REAL. I’m most impressed by how she stays on top of all the current medical news

Dr. Bowers is the very first doctor I have had whom I completely trust and whom I actually enjoy working with. I can count on a prompt, clear diagnosis when I have a specific health problem and I can also expect to be given a reliable idea of exactly what to expect. She has a wonderfully sensitive manner that relaxes patients and makes them more likely to remember what she has said, which is… See more

Dr. Bowers is an excellent physician who goes out of her way to offer personalized care to each of her patients. Her medical knowledge is impressive, and she develops medical plans for her patients that are both practical and achievable. She considers the whole patient, not just the immediate medical issue, so that new issues dont arise unnecessarily in the future. She is extremely… See more

At last years annual appointment Dr Bowers and I had a conversation about aging and how to stay mentally sharp. She suggested finding things to do or try that take me out of my comfort zone and it definitely resonated with me. I decided I was going to heed that advice...my husband and I took our daughters on a 10 day trip to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam (I have never been out of the country… See more

Dr Bowers is knowledgeable and very professional. I feel she saved my life with insisting I have a colonoscopy. I had no symptoms but she said get it done or get another doctor. It was my first such test and colon cancer was found. I had a resection done and I'm fine to this day. She sent me to orthopaedic doctor where my bone on bone problem was found. She is the greatest.
