I met Dr. Greg Beato about 4-5 years ago.
Dr. Beato is the only Dr. I’ve ever been to that actually cares about his patients, and it shows that by going all the “extra miles” Dr. Beato goes to ensure his patients are treated well, taken care of and check up on.
Thanks for all you do Dr. Beato!!!

My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
In joining MDVIP, I am excited to bring back traditional internal medicine in a personalized, private practice manner to the New River Valley Community. I value interpersonal relationships and getting to know my patients and their families, and will be able to do so even more in this model. Similar to concierge medicine practices, I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments that start on time. Internal medicine used to consist of both office-based primary care and hospital medicine. I am eager to get back to admitting and caring for my MDVIP-affiliated patients when hospitalization is required at Lewis-Gale Hospital Montgomery. This continuity of care is unique in our area, and I believe incredibly valuable to patients and families.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Beato
My relationship with Dr. Beato goes back about five years, and in that time there have been a number of “special moments”, including some “tough stuff”, but all with happy outcomes. It would be hard to pick one in particular – but what comes to mind is from the very beginning of our association. One of the major factors supporting our choice of Blacksburg as a retirement destination was our… See more
Dr. Beato is a very patient, caring and knowledgeable doctor. He works with you to address your health concerns, rather than just telling you what to do. He wants to make sure you and him are on the same page and comfortable. And he goes out of his way to care for his patients. Dr. Beato has always been personable and friendly, always willing to spend all the time needed to address my… See more
Greg Beato has been an amazing physician for my wife and I in what has been a tough couple of years. He has been by our side through my open-heart surgery and a heart ablation procedure and two knee replacements for Cyndi. What we both enjoy about Greg is the time he takes to address our health concerns and his his ability to explain things in ways that are both understandable and… See more
Dr. Beato is one of the most caring, personable and easy to confide in doctors ever! He is the way doctors used to treat their patients back when I was a kid and as a younger adult. He truly cares about his patients and wants the best for them. He has always taken the time needed to treat his patients and i have never felt rushed or unheard. He is also honest and forthright in his comments… See more
Four years ago this week I was admitted to the hospital with a small bowel blockage that required surgery. Unfortunately the surgery went sideways and I ended up staying in the hospital for 14 days. During that time Dr. Beato came to see me at least twice each day. He was actively involved in the follow up care and consulted on a regular basis with my surgeon. It was one of the roughest… See more
I would like to express my gratitude to Dr. Beato and his staff for the impeccable care that I have received over the years. I am his first in hospital patient. Over the years I have received amazing preventative care, on-going care and follow ups that are un matched, all with an incredible bedside manner. Thank you Dr. B for all that you do!
My doctor (Dr. Beato) is amazing in general, and has solved problems quickly and effectively for me, and addressed some major problems for my father, who is also a patient. This one isn't the most important, but it's the most recent, and a great representation of his work and efforts.
I was on vacation at Park City and tweaked my knee in an odd wreck that put me out for the… See more
Dr. Beato's skill, care, and concern continue to amaze me. Over the years he has treated me for a variety of things, including a broken bone, blood clots, heart disease, hypertension, etc. He is there when I need him and seems always to have time to discuss treatment and possible alternatives when appropriate. I attribute my good condition at 83 to his care.
Just before I went on vacation last summer, I got a nasty laceration on the top of my ankle that was sutured on Saturday at a walk-in clinic. Ten days later on the other side of the continent, the sutures were removed and despite my having taken a prescribed antibiotic, the wound became infected. When I texted him a photo, Dr. Beato faxed an order for a more suitable antibiotic to a pharmacy… See more
