My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
During my 36 years of internal medicine practice, I have witnessed wonderful developments in both our understanding of how to stay healthy and the wide range of options available when illness occurs. As technology and medical services have evolved, the choices and complexity of primary care are vast, bringing both opportunity and risk for you, the health care consumer.
As a board-certified physician, I have been navigating these difficult waters for years, with extensive experience starting in the Sinai and Beaumont Hospital environment with patient care and teaching, and culminating in my present-day primary care practice. My patients have received concierge-like treatment from day one because that’s how I was trained.
At Premier Internists, a division of Michigan Healthcare Professionals, I designed and managed a number of care management pathways including asthma, hypertension, osteoporosis and lipid disorders. These pathways were designed to help patients understand the nature of their problems and also give them options of treatment while carefully following standards of care.
Personalized internal medicine care fosters a close working relationship, one-on-one, between you, the patient, and me, the physician. Even better, both of us become acquainted in a deeper and more meaningful sense, taking time to understand both the barriers and rewards to good health. This personal, concierge approach is vastly different from what the insurance industry refers to as “covered lives” in a managed care setting.
From the extensive annual wellness examination to the smaller aspects of direct communication, like “just a question about what we discussed," there are countless ways this personalized, direct, medical care service can help enhance the quality of your life, improve your healthcare outcomes and satisfy you in this complex medical world.
My primary care practice is located in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and serves patients from Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Bingham Farms, Farmington and Franklin.
