FIRST STORY:
I sought advice from Dr. Scarbrough regarding my Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care. During this process he advised and answered my questions about the DNR, the Living Will, the Transportable Physician Orders, plus my own document about my personal preferences for end-of-life care. I used his information to modify these documents, and they were then… See more

My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
As an MDVIP-affiliated doctor, I have more time to develop close relationships with my patients, carefully review patient records and perform more comprehensive exams. I hope to not only be your physician, but also a trusted friend guiding you through the complexities of today's medical environment.
I also hope to offer you an optimal healthcare experience. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments.
Lawrence has been my home for many years now. I am affiliated with LMH Health/Lawrence Memorial Hospital and serve Lawrence and the surrounding Douglas, Franklin and Leavenworth county communities of Eudora, Tonganoxie and Baldwin City.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Scarbrough
We have enjoyed MDvip and find great value in accessibility to our provider Dr Scarborough. He is very responsive and helpful in helping us get the care we need. As a MDVIP member we definitely don’t feel like a number, we are a name and a face to the team.
My doctor has been so available to me, and to my husband, on a few occasions including after hours and weekends. Though I am reluctant to do so, I have had to call during those times and I'm never made to feel like I'm bothering him. He listens and thoughtfully gives advice as to what I need to do. Recently while traveling out of state, I had a deep pain in my leg, and considered… See more
My MDVIP Dr. Marcus Scarbrough is alert, patient, knowledgeable, realistic. He is easy to contact and he responds promptly to my health concerns. He makes me feel seen and heard. I had a steroid injection for my spine in May 2023 at the Mayo Clinic which may have caused a TIA. Dr. Scarbrough did not discount my story of how zapped my brain felt right after the procedure. He set me up with a… See more
I've been very grateful for Dr. Scarbrough's dedication in trying to sort out what is going on with me and a collection of hard-to-diagnose symptoms I've been experiencing. I feel cared for and acknowledged by his going the extra mile. He showed this by, among other things, consulting with a local specialist to sort out which tests might be most useful in clarifying what is or… See more
Dr. Marcus Scarbrough is very caring and always takes time to listen and address any health issues. He gives me practical advice and keeps me in good health.
I had been experiencing shortness of breath to the point it was changing my speech patterns. Called my old doctor for an appointment stating I was having a hard time breathing and had a heaviness in my chest. The first available time to meet with a PA was six weeks out. So, I waited and my symptoms increased to the point I was only able to function at about 60% my usual capacity (I workout… See more
Dr Scarbrough is the reason I can still fish and play golf at age 75. Really appreciate his dedication to the details.
I have been in the MDVip family for years now and my original doctor retired but I knew I wanted to level of care I had seen previous and having a new doctor is scary! Dr. Scarborough out paced any expectation I had and the level of care and compassion is just something else! Never once has him or his staff made me anything but their only priority! Something special is to be said when you… See more
It is so gratifying to have a doctor who really listens and takes our concerns seriously. We are a very active and life loving couple who place high value on relationships and healthy living and we feel very supported by our doctor as we deal with the ongoing issues related to post cancer and post heart disease and brain injury. All of the referrals that Dr. Scarbrough has made for us have… See more
