My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
I have practiced internal medicine in Salem, Massachusetts for greater than 36 years and serve patients in communities throughout the north Boston area, including Lynn, Lynnfield, Beverly, Hamilton, Wenham, Ipswich, Peabody, Salem, Revere, Danvers and beyond. My hospital affiliation is with North Shore Medical Center, and I also work with specialists throughout the Partners’ system, including Mass General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
In addition to general primary care, I have a special interest in infectious diseases. I was the first infectious diseases specialist at North Shore Medical Center with a particular interest in hospital epidemiology. I also am a member of The Infectious Diseases Society of America as well as The Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Greenbaum
Dr Greenbaum has provided consistent good care which has allowed me to chug along into my nineties
We feel truly blessed to have Dr. Maurice Greenbaum as our personal physician. He has proven over and over again that he is compassionate, intelligent, patient, worthy of the trust we have in him, and equally important, available to us as needed. In addition, his staff is excellent and each one makes you feel as if you are a special patient.
Dr. Greenbaum has been our pcp for about 40+- years. He has been the best doctor ever and when we first met him he was involved with saving my husbands life from injuries from Viet Nam. He has also taken care of me with a lot of diabetes complications. He has been there for us since the beginning and especially since being a part of MDVIP but his care has been the same from day one. Several times I have had incidents that were serious, but not e,mergencies and I called Dr. Greenbaum on his phone and one time he answered on his boat and gave me instructions of how to proceed. I certainly couldn't get that response from my previous GP. He has well served me and in my opinion MDVIP has paid for itself many times over.
DR GREENBAUM AND HIS STAFF IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD HE REALLY CARES ABOUT ABOUT MY WELL BEING I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE HIM AND HIS STAFF
Doctor Greenbaum has lessened the stress-factor in my life. Knowing he is always assessable, has been a comfort in my life. Taking care of elderly parents can be difficult, physically and especially emotionally, but this good Doctor has enabled me to enjoy my life, despite my charges. Before my Dad passed away, Dr. Greenbaum took charge of his treatment, consulted and visited daily, and… See more
Dr. Greenbaum has been a terrific physican and infectious diseases specialist before he joined MDVIP, and the organization is fortunate to have Dr. Greenbaum within its ranks. He is an unusally smart, kind, caring, resourceful physician. I am a type one diabetic, and I have had a great deal of experience with various physicians at Massachusetts General Hospital and Tufts Medical Center in… See more
My guess is that my husband and I met Dr Greenbaum about 35 years ago. My husband had had many complications from an injury while in Viet Nam and though he was in many hospitals out of state and in state no one was able to figure out the on-going problem.
Dr Greenbaum was the infectious disease doctor affiliated with Salem Hospital and because I refused to let my husband go to the VA… See more
