I. Worked in a management posistion at a hospital with a large laboratory. My responsibilities included traveling to Doctor offices throughout the state educating offices on new test available, proper diagnosis that would be proper with the new test and any other laboratory information the physicians may require. My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
I work closely with each of my patients to formulate a plan to help them achieve a better quality of life. There are no easy short-cuts or “cookie-cutter” formulas that work for everyone. As the medical world becomes more and more complex, I believe it becomes more important for people to have a patient-doctor partnership that focuses not only on disease management, but also on health and wellness which includes each person’s physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs and strengths.
The MDVIP model allows me to have the direct relationship with my patients that my father and my grandfather before me had, but with all of the resources, tools and technologies that are now available.
Beyond traditional medical practice, I have a special interest in integrative approaches to neuro-technologies, including neurofeedback, QEEG, neuro stimulation techniques and infrared treatment. I also have an extensive background in counseling and mental health which helps me to care for my patients. I am on active staff at Sparrow Hospital and part of the Sparrow Care Network which serves the greater Lansing area and surrounding communities.
I am married (to Cathy- since 1980), and we have one son Tim, who lives in Denver and works in the medical technology field.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Harvey
Dr. Harvey cares for his patients, taking the time to explain diagnoses and treatment plans in detail. The moment that really stands out to me, though, is when he offered to open his office on a weekend to see me. Most doctors would tell a patient on a weekend to go to the ER or a ready care facility, or to make an appointment for the following week. This is particularly true when, as in my… See more
I met and became a patient of Dr. Harvey's prior to his becoming an MDVIP physician. I appreciated his candor, humor and rapport, along with his medical advice. He takes the time to get to know the patient and their lives. When Dr. Harvey moved to his own practice as MDVIP, it put his services in overdrive! Early detection of my kidney tumor made for a less invasion surgery option and… See more
