My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

As a family physician, I view good health as a product of an individual’s body, mind, spirit and the environment all working together optimally. I know that an excellent doctor-patient relationship is based on mutual trust, and I respect and enjoy patients that come from all seasons and walks of life. As I develop a relationship with my patients, I create a personalized healthcare plan that involves those different factors with the hope of moving each person from their starting point to a better place. With me functioning as your private physician, we can aspire together to improve your health now and plan for a healthy future.

I have been in the Harrisburg and Central Pennsylvania medical community since 1996, with experience in medical education, as well as private practice. In my private practice, I enjoy managing a panel of primary care issues including diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, obesity, anxiety and depression. Similar to concierge medicine practices, I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments that start on time. I put a strong emphasis on prevention and have an approach to healthcare that involves using wise lifestyle decisions, fitness and nutrition when addressing current and future medical needs. Due to my longevity in the area, I have established excellent professional relationships with local specialists with whom I consult when specialty care is needed. I have no direct affiliation with a hospital system; however, if inpatient care is needed, I do work with the hospitalists who care for my patients.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Rayner

from Scott in PA March 5, 2018 for Richard M. Rayner, MD

I went to Dr Rayner previous to him joining MDVIP. It was suggested by a friend of mine to see him. I have followed him to MDVIP because of his professionalism and manner about him. I have found that other people I am acquainted with and friends with, have also stayed with him in his transition to MDVIP. He is truly a medical professional and caring person.

from Linda in PA March 1, 2018 for Richard M. Rayner, MD

I started seeing Dr. Rayner when he was at the Penn State Office. When my insurance changed I had to find another doctor, much to my dismay. I went to another doctor for about 6 months to a year but as soon as I knew Dr. Rayner opened his own office, I was there. Hopefully, Dr. Rayner will be my doctor until I no longer need a doctor. In my opinion, he is what many other doctors should be… See more

from Elizabeth in PA February 27, 2018 for Richard M. Rayner, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Raynor's since 2005. In fall of 2006, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a terrifying time. My only frame of reference to cancers were my mother and brother who were very ill and died from their cancers. A friend had breast cancer a few years earlier, but went through treatment #$& and was a very sick woman. Although not the treating physician for… See more

I became a patient of Dr. Richard Rayner's several years ago. With having several health issues, I was changing doctors more often than I would have liked, and seen many specialist that only bounced me around from place to place. After learning about Aspire Family Medicine and Dr. Rayner, all that confusion ended immediately! Dr. Rayner took the personal time I needed to address my issues… See more

from Joanne April 5, 2017 for Richard M. Rayner, MD

If I had to use one word to describe Dr. Richard Rayner, it would be Phenomenal.

We followed Dr. Rayner from Hershey Medical to Aspire and now to his MDVIP practice. Why...because there are few doctors who meet the standard of excellence he has set. Not only is he an outstanding clinician but he is extremely caring and takes extra steps to provide exceptional physical and emotional… See more
