My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

As a traditional internist born and raised in Abilene, Texas, it is a privilege to come home and take care of those that helped to grow this community and its rich traditions. My focus has always been compassionate care, respecting patient autonomy and working to really listen to what my patients are trying to tell me. By affiliating with MDVIP, I am able to take my patient-centered approach and provide personalized health care, integrating new technology and information with the humanistic tradition of medicine that has drawn me to this calling since I was a child. By combining the best of up to date medicine with an individualized patient focused wellness plan, I can help take care of people at any stage of life in a way that is meaningful to their individual values and goals.

I admit and round at Abilene Regional Medical Center and Hendrick Medical Center. By partnering with MDVIP, I will also be able to make nursing home rounds, inpatient rehab rounds and home visits, when appropriate. I will be able to continue complete continuity for my patients and take the time to focus on details to provide timely consults and specialized services to ensure better communication between sub-specialties.

I got Covid in October 2023 in the middle of rural New Hampshire while on vacation. I had questions and needed advice since this was my first Covid experience and I was 3 hours from major medical facilities. Dr. Goodman answered the phone and coached me how to deal with Covid symptoms, what to take and not take, and protect the others in my party. Thank you very much!!!

When I first had my initial visit with Dr. Samantha Goodman, I was very impressed that she, as I could tell, very personal and cared for my future health needs. As time went on with quarterly check ups, she changed some medication’s that I had been on for around 20 years that didn’t seem to be working. With her compassionate care and health concerns, I am no longer a diabetic and has helped me… See more

She is a great physician who takes the time to listen to you and has the great ability to understand the health issues you are facing.
I am not the easiest patient to deal with but that never changes her desire to give me the best care possible.
I have been under her carry for several years and overall health has improved under her care… See more

In 2017 my husband killed himself. It was a shock to my whole body. During the following 12 months I found myself very ill numerous times, caused by severe stress, and even wound up in the hospital several times. Dr. Goodman was very patient with me and concerned about my complicated grief. She was very understanding and I am grateful to her for that.

from Arthur in TX March 24, 2022 for Samantha H. Goodman, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Goodman for over two years

I heard about Dr.Goodman through my counselor. Sure I was a little taken back by the fee initially but decided it was worth my time to meet with her for a face to face meeting.
The first question I ask her had she ever fired a patient. That was my way of telling her I could be a difficult patient and that my condition is a deep… See more
