Tejal Shah, MD

Based on my practice as an internal medicine doctor over the last 12 years, I believe that a collaborative approach to treatment between my patients, their families and other physicians can lead to favorable outcomes. I know that each patient is different—that you have unique health issues, perspectives and concerns. As your personal MDVIP-affiliated physician, I will strive to understand your perspective and use experience and compassion to give you personalized care.

I also believe being proactive is important and, thus, have a passion for preventive healthcare so that we can help prevent health issues before they arise. And, while preventing illness is important, I have practiced hospital‐based medicine for much of my career and understand the importance of diagnosing acute illnesses, developing treatment plans that can work for you and solving the difficult issues surrounding chronic illnesses and advanced age. This includes working with multiple specialists and being the “quarterback” of your medical team. In my years of practice, I have developed relationships with many specialists.

Similar to concierge medicine practices, I also offer conveniences like same‐ or next‐day appointments that start on time. I am affiliated with Houston Methodist Hospital and serve the Houston area.
