My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

I believe that the key to maintaining health is to have an effective partnership between the doctor and patient. To be successful, this relationship requires more time for a understanding of each individual patient and an emphasis on wellness and prevention when necessary. Working with each patient and taking the time during our annual wellness visit, I will help develop a personalized lifestyle plan that helps meet their intended health goals.

In 1995, I returned to my home in the Sandhills of North Carolina to serve the people that I grew up with. I have participated in many facets of their care, attending to them in the hospital and office and even making visits for care in their home. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. I have interests in cardiovascular disease prevention and management of diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis and thyroid diseases.

I have an active affiliation with FirstHealth-Moore Regional Hospital and I believe it is very important to make hospital visits to provide continuity of care for my patients. In 2004, I was voted by the staff to be their first “Physician of the Year”, as it reflected my passion for excellence in working with others for the betterment of my patients. My primary practice is focused on wellness, prevention of illness and personalized care.

I am looking forward to our partnership for a healthier YOU!

Doctor Walter Morris lll is a credit to his profession in every way. His kind, caring and he takes is time to listen to his patents. He is what I call old school, never in a rush. He always take his time and explains everything so that you can understand it, then compare is finding to last years finding, so you can see how you were the year before. Than helps you to address any new problems.… See more

Dr. Morris, Southern Pines, NC saw me in his office on a “spur of the moment” time. I was driving along and had SEVERE pain in my left arm, such that I could hardly drive. With no appointment, Dr Morris saw me, immediately diagnosed it as acute bursitis, gave me a shot, sent me on my way, painless. I always remember this!

Dr Morris is a fantastic and caring doctor. He has been available anytime needed especially in the middle of the night when I was in South Korea and needed assistance. He deserves all the recognition possible. I hope he continues his service for many years.

from Sam in NC February 12, 2024 for Walter S. Morris III MD FACP

I appreciate the fact that I can reach my doctor 24/7. There have been instances where I was traveling and needed to speak with him. My wife and I both are under his care and would not return to the conventional heath care system for our health care needs.

On December 6,2023, my husband's blood pressure dropped when he was getting out of his car. He fainted and fell forward onto the cement driveway tearing the skin off his face, hands, and left knee. Once I got his blood covered body into our home, I sent pictures of his injuries to Dr. Morris and within moments I received instructions to bring Jim to the office rather than going to the ER… See more

Dr. Walter Morris has been a Godsend to me. I am 80 year old patient of his and he has seen me through many of my medical issues over the past several years. I truly appreciate the fact that I am always able to get an appointment whenever I really feel I need to see him. He takes plenty of time to explain my situation and his diagnosis. I never feel like I am rushed in any way. His advice… See more

The most outstanding thing about Dr. Morris for me applies to the various times with problems concerning my husband. First and foremost, I suppose, was the time Ron had to had heart bypass surgery and Dr. Morris called us from out of town explaining what had to take place and letting us know he would be in contact with the surgeon all the time. Next, on a 4th of July when everyone should be… See more
