My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

When I first started my medical practice over 30 years ago, my goal was to create a warm and welcoming environment in which my patients would feel most comfortable. I hoped to emulate the family physician of old, where patients were treated like family and felt free to share their joys as well as their worries and concerns. My MDVIP-affiliated practice allows me to provide this type of medical care, providing me the time to get to know my patients better and, therefore, allowing me to care for each patient according to his or her individual needs. I can focus on wellness and prevention rather than wait to treat disease after it has occurred. It is important that my patients leave my office with all of their questions answered and concerns addressed. I will always do my best to honor and respect my patient's wishes, as I see myself as a partner in my patients’ health care. Similar to conveniences often associated with concierge medicine practices, I also offer same- or next-day appointments that start on time.

I was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida and returned to the area in 1986 to start my medical practice in the same community as my father and two brothers who were also physicians. Since then, I have been actively involved with our local medical and Jewish communities. I am part of several university sponsored medical residency training programs that require me to keep current with ever-changing recommendations and advancements in medicine. I frequently lecture to physicians and community members on various topics, especially those pertaining to medicine and geriatrics. As a board-certified family doctor and geriatrician, I am acutely aware of the many unique challenges that can occur as people age. I have a special interest in and experience with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. My experience as the medical director of long-term care facilities has allowed me to help patients, as well as their families and caregivers, cope with memory loss and functional decline associated with aging. I have a special interest in genetic testing and how this cutting-edge technology can determine the ideal medicines and care. Our office provides care to adults of all ages. We provide physicals and well-women exams, obtain in-office lab work and ECGs and perform minor office surgeries and cryotherapy.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. LeVine

from Alice in FL March 12, 2020 for David A. LeVine, MD, CMD

I worked as a registered nurse for 40yrs before retiring in 2015. Back in 2003-2009 while working as a Case Manager @ a local hospital I had the opportunity to observe the wonderful young Dr Levine. I can even remember thinking of him as such a delightful young “baby doc”. When he came to the floor he would interact with staff both professionally and kindly.. He would then pour over his… See more

In January, 2019, I had 3 stents placed on coronary arteries that had blockage of 95% or more. My only symptoms were shortness of breath after mowing the lawn for about 6 months prior to the diagnosis. While I feel that the cardiologists saved my life, I feel that Dr. David LeVine also helped save my life. After the stents were placed, My cardiologist prescribed Zetia, low-dose aspirin,… See more

I am so thankful for MDVIP and Dr Levine! After having met with Dr Levine for my annual wellness exam and looking over my first annual wellness summary I feel, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, that I have a doctor on my side. Dr. Levine listened to me and did his own research and then gave me advice accordingly. This is the first time I can recall that I can honestly trust a doctors advice. I… See more
