My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

As a family physician, it is the caring, close, personal relationships that develop over a number of years that are the most meaningful and gratifying aspects of practice. Although times of illness and crisis can really bring a physician, patient and often the family together, my goals is to work with you to discover, articulate and ultimately reach your own personal wellness goals. With a personalized approach, I will work closely with you to utilize all available resources to optimize your physical and emotional health.

With over 28 years in the private practice of family medicine in the Monterey Bay area as well as being on staff at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, I have developed a reputation as a caring, compassionate and knowledgeable family physician.

For those patients who have chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, any wellness and prevention plan will require thoughtful attention to those issues. For many years I have had a special interest in diabetes care. I encourage all patients to stay active and have made physical activity and fitness an important part of my own wellness program.

In time, injury illness and age often require us to change or adjust our physical activities. Life circumstances can often challenge our emotional well-being. Together we can work through these challenges as we strive to live long and exceptionally well.

In addition to excellent medical care Dr. Edmonds is a very good/caring person. My wife has ALS and Dr. Edmonds comes to the house to care for her. He already had a reputation for spending quality time with his patients and his MDVIP membership has even given him more time. Also of importance is the fact that he has put together a quality staff from the front desk to the nurses.

Dr. Edmonds - you're the best! I'm so glad that we picked you as our doc, especially this past year when I got so sick.

I really appreciate your concern, getting me to the right specialists, continuing to monitor my progress and improvement. I value your excellent listening skills and clear explanations. I also appreciate that you're not afraid of emotion - meaning that… See more

My doctor, Jay Edmonds, and his partner, Cindy Lee, spend a great deal of time and commitment helping their patients maintain a healthy lifestyle in their research, seminars and in the time they spend with each patient answering questions and in planning the right path for each individual to maintain health and happiness.

I have been with Dr. Edmonds for over 25 years, I could not imagine myself with any other Dr. He has the patience of a saint with me because I can be very stubborn. I never feel rushed, God bless him.

When I have my annual physical with Dr. Jay as I call him, and his staff I am always appreciative of how they take so much time and care in the testing, analysis, and the one on one follow-up. I know this is critical as one ages and becomes more susceptible to cancers and other illnesses and I just turned 63 years old. Being a GP is difficult in the current environment of cost squeezing by… See more

From my first encounter with Dr. Edmonds, I found him to be the rare kind of doctor who listens, thinks about what you've said, asks relevant questions, and only then gives a careful response. When he announced that he was transitioning to an MDVIP practice, I knew I had to make the transition with him. I've been really glad I did. Now he goes into even greater depth, reviewing with… See more

When Im asked about our doctor MDVIP Dr. Jay Edmonds, what comes into my mind first is warmth, and kindhearted. He has been our doctor for 19 years and we never hesitated to continue when he went MDVIP.
My husband has many health problems and Dr. Jay Edmonds has kept on top of them all. He checked in with him when my husband had total knee replacement, spends as much time as we need to… See more
