My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
Medicine has always been deeply-rooted in me since I was young. Escaping from a war-torn country of Vietnam when I was about eight years old, I became ill from a variety of underlying causes including malnutrition, poor living conditions, and minimal access, if any, to healthcare. I have vicariously been learning from my childhood experience and strived to follow a medical pathway to achieve further growth in this ever-changing scientific world. I am also currently challenged to navigate through the tumultuous healthcare system of today. I strongly believe in preventive and maintenance healthcare to reduce illnesses and disorders, which can lead to chronic complications and can decrease one's life expectancy.
I am currently practicing in Dover, Delaware and have been for nearly twelve years. Prior to this, I was trained at St. Francis Hospital Family Medicine in Wilmington and worked in urgent care clinics in Wilmington, Bear and Middletown. Continuity of care and taking care of generations of families are important to me. I believe in a holistic approach to medicine. I also believe in self-care and leading a healthy lifestyle myself to inspire my patients to do the same.
Due to significant changes in the healthcare system over the past 10 years, I limited the scope of my practice in the office and eventually gave up hospital rounds. Time with patients is an essential factor to make sure that most, if not all, issues can be addressed during a visit. I manage various disorders including hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular diseases, asthma, COPD, dermatologic diseases including skin cancer and skin lacerations, orthopedic problems and joint injections.
This year, I have partnered with MDVIP, a national leader in personalized healthcare. Together, we will restore the common missing link of time and availability to address the medical issues of each patient; hence, decreasing healthcare costs and hospitalizations. The preventive and wellness benefits of the MDVIP program will ensure specific care to each patient. The availability of the MDVIP Connect portal and off-clinic hour communication are just some examples of enhanced doctor-patient relationship. I am looking forward to all these exciting positive changes with my patients!

About the Practice/Practice News
Telemedicine Option: I am also using telemedicine visits to stay connected with my patients when they are unable to see me in the office. It is easy to do, and we have maintained our momentum with preventive health goals and chronic care during difficult times.
