Dr. Laura Oppenheim has been my PCP for many years. When she became a MDVIP physician I followed her. I made accommodations in my budget for I couldn't imagine her not continuing to treat me. The relationship we've formed through the years enables her to treat me as a person not a only a patient. I value her attention and care. She is a very special person.

My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
In addition to my interests in preventive medicine, cardiovascular health, diabetes, hypertension and women's health, I am a board-certified geriatrician. I am keenly aware of the complex medical issues that people face as they age. I am dedicated to providing quality, evidence-based medicine to effectively treat and guide all my patients. I listen to my patients, treat them effectively and serve as their advocate through a complex medical landscape.
I am affiliated with both the University of Pennsylvania and Jefferson Health networks and my office is in downtown Philadelphia.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Oppenheim
Dr. Oppenheim has followed me for years. I have a number of medical issues and look upon her as the captain of my ship. She coordinates my care and always guides me in the right direction. I trust her implicitly! The one moment that I remember most occurred approximately 15 months ago when I was hospitalized. My hospital team was divided on its recommendations for surgery. Some years ago, when I was having relationship problems , Dr Oppenheim took the time and had the interest to sit with me , listen to me, talk to me and try to help. It was much appreciated. It displayed a level of concern that told me I wasn’t just a bunch of medical problems to be solved but a real whole person.

I do not have a specific milestone but my story is simply about my doctor's ongoing support. I was a patient of Dr. Laura Oppenheim before she became a VIP Doctor, but because of the care that I received, I decided to stay with her. Wether it is an annual exam or followup appointment, Dr. Oppenheim handles each appointment with equal importance. She took the time and got to know me and my… See more
One of the things that I truly appreciate about Laura Oppenheim is the promptness with she responds to phone calls and portal messages. I have never had a physician who is so quickly responsive. And the information she shares is both reassuring and challenging, giving me instructions and advice with a calm, engaging voice that sends me into action. This has been consistent since I signed up… See more
I have worked with Dr, Oppenheim since before she began her MDVIP practice and it was important for me to continue the relationship. She is the best primary care physician I have ever worked with. She is warm and caring but professional and appropriately boundaried. She is responsive and easy to reach. She coordinates extremely well with other providers. I have recommended her to others… See more
I have been a patient of Dr Oppenheim for many years. She is patient with her patient-and answers my questions and gets back to me quickly via email of by phone when I have a concern. Also handles my anxious moments with understanding and patience. A good moment....my last wellness exam. For the first time since becoming her patient-my LDL and my Apolipoprotein B were within the reference… See more
For some time, last summer, I had been experiencing ‘pins and needles’ in both my hands and feet and sometimes in the left side of my head. I mentioned it to Dr. Oppenheim, thinking it probably wasn’t anything serious. She said, “Let’s get an MRI of the brain for you.” I thought, “Oh-h-h, darn! My BRAIN now?!” I’d already had MRI’s and X-rays for other parts of my body that year. “And… See more
About 2 weeks ago, I provided you a glowing testimonial about my physician. Do I have to do it again?
The past year has been extremely challenging for me health wise so three months ago, I made the decision to switch to a concierge doctor with whom I could make contact rapidly when medical concerns arose. I have found Dr. Oppenheim to be extremely responsive to phone contacts and notes in her portal. It's been very reassuring to know that I'm receiving expert advice exactly when it… See more
