My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

Born and raised in the Midwest with an upbringing instilled with the values of integrity, compassion, empathy and respect, it is my desire to reach each of my patients in a unique way that allows them to feel relaxed and confident that they have a health partner they can count on. As an MDVIP-affiliated physician, I have the time to care for my patients in an unhurried and more thorough manner.

My style as a family physician is relaxed and personal. My desire is for patients to be comfortable and calm during our visits. This allows for a more fulfilling and effective visit that can better meet the needs of each patient in a unique and personal way. I view our relationship as important in working toward achieving our mutual goals of overall wellness.

I am affiliated with CHI Health Clinic and CHI Lakeside in Omaha, Nebraska. I serve patients from southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa, including the Omaha /Council Bluffs area.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Andersen

from Stevr in NE March 11, 2024 for Mark D. Andersen, MD

Dr. Andersen recently helped me through a scary issue and I much appreciated his care and concern. The real story is that he also has treated my Mother-in-law for many years. Now at 97 she is on Hospice. Not only has Dr. Andersen been so caring of her, he called her recently to wish her happy birthday on her 97th birthday. That meant a great deal to her and made her day.

In August 2023, Dr. Mark D. Andersen shared an MDVIP report on the benefits of using a sauna. I knew my insurance had offerings that I had not taken advantage of. I checked with the insurance, Renew Active program for nearby gyms with a sauna. My gym membership is free with the Renew Active program. The gym is less than two miles from our home. I go to the sauna 5 - 6 times a week.… See more

Back in early 2018 I was suffering from a weakness that kept getting progressively worse. Dr. Mark Anderson was/is my Primary Physician. He called in a talented Rheumatologist by the name of Dr. Nada Skaf. She had me remove my shirt and I revealed an unusual redness around the neck as if I had been outside getting lots of sun in the summer. She correctly diagnosed myositis of some type.… See more

Quite simply, Dr. Andersen is the best doctor I have ever had—and I’ve had a few in my 81 years of life! I found him by looking at various online physician profiles when I was searching for a new primary care doctor after moving to Omaha 10 years ago. In the video he recorded, he came across as such a caring person interested in the human being in the examination room, not just the patient.… See more

I have no magnificent story here but my doctor means the world to me. I’ve been going to him for more than 15+ years. I feel like he truly cares about my health concerns. He has supported me with my health issues as well.

It is my great honor to share a number of the reasons we are thankful for the care and attention of our family doctor, Dr. Mark Andersen, in Omaha.

Dr. Andersen began treating my folks, Bud and Julia in the early 1990s. Dad had a number of concerns he felt were not being adequately… See more

Dr. Andersen, you have had a supporting role in my life from the first day I walked into your office. You always took the time to listen to what was going on with me, whether it was physical or mental. I feel that you have always had my well being in your best interest. You never made me feel like "just a patient" and I thank you for that. I can't really pin point a moment that… See more

I suffered a miscarriage years ago. I was incredibly sad and depressed after many years of trying to conceive. I decided to get on some antidepressants but was very hesitant about the stigma related to it. Dr. Andersen helped me realize that we all need a little help from time to time and it doesn’t have to be permanent. He reassured me that this was a normal feeling and offered a shoulder to… See more
