I grew up the son of a family physician. As a youngster, I would accompany my dad in the car as he made his house calls in the afternoon. It seemed to me that walking into a patient's house clearly made a difference in the lives of the patients and my dad. He was able to appreciate their lives on a completely different level. Perhaps those days are over, but the relationship between patient and doctor should not change. In some respects, technology has led to a separation. With my MDVIP-affiliation, I am able to harness the wonders of technology but continue to have the time to take care of the whole person. I honestly believe the ideal physician is the one who cares about you.

Telemedicine Option: I am also using telemedicine visits to stay connected with my patients when they are unable to see me in the office. It is easy to do, and we have maintained our momentum with preventive health goals and chronic care during difficult times.
