My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

My passion as a physician is to partner with patients to provide personalized healthcare and education. My goal is to help each patient achieve optimal health and prevent illness. In addition to the comprehensive MDVIP Annual Wellness Program, I offer full primary care medical services. When a patient faces a health challenge or serious illness, I will help manage their care and be a strong patient advocate. I also believe it is important to support the patient and their families through treatments and daily challenges. I am available for urgent medical guidance after hours and when you travel.

My osteopathic medical training and 30 years of practice has focused on the care of the whole person, not just the illness. I believe this is necessary to help a person achieve optimal health and maintain quality of life.

I have a strong interest in nutrition in both prevention and treatment of disease. I have completed Tulane University's Culinary Medicine course for physicians and regularly attend continuing education courses through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Plantrician Project and Physicians for Social Responsibility. After years of reading research, I have adopted a plant-based diet and have assisted interested patients in doing so as well.

from Marcia in ME February 12, 2024 for Patricia J. Phillips, DO

It is not often that you get to see/hear what your doctor does for other patients. But my doctor was also the doctor of my very best friend, who fought a decades long cancer battle. Because my friend and I were so close, I often went to appointments with her on this agonizingly long medical journey. She gave the doctors permission to chat with me and teach me how I could support a friend.… See more

I am an 81 y/o male and have never had a female Dr. And now I do. She respects my space. She asks questions and listens. I was a nurse, then a dentist, a research assoc. at the N.I.H., then a dentist again with membership in 3 important post doc associations. She is the most thorough, careful and caring.
