My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

Growing up in a small Pennsylvania town, I was influenced by the doctors who were completely dedicated to their patients constantly working in their best interest. And now that I have been practicing for 30 years, I have found that to be a compelling model for clinical practice. I believe this is a profession, not a trade, and I always work in my patient's best interest.
It is a privilege for me to function in a capacity where I can potentially help avoid medical problems or treat problems as they arise. My philosophy is to do my job, both technically and emotionally to the best of my ability and in the interests of my patients. My guiding principles are simple - tell the truth and don't be arrogant.
I believe my patients who are part of my MDVIP-affiliated practice value the same goals of health care which I embrace - the values of prevention and wellness and of allowing adequate time to effectively work together to keep them happy and healthy.

My husband Marty had been ill with advanced kidney disease, and had been undergoing dialysis for over three years. As things progressed, I had made several appointments with our doctor, Dr. Richard Berg, but had to cancel them because I couldn't get him there. When I finally explained the reason for the cancellations, he said that he would come to the house to see him. It never… See more

Dr. Richard Berg (Dick) has been my physician since his early days of practicing medicine. ( before MDVIP) I remember going to many offices to see him since he didn’t maintain one yet. He is & has always been thorough, sincere & thoughtful of mine & my family’s health & care. I left his care when he joined MDVIP because I did not think I needed that kind of care. However,… See more

from Edward in MD March 12, 2020 for Richard A. Berg, MD

Dr. Richard Berg has been my physician for some 28 years. The key to our relationship has been his ability to listen to the patient. He is most accommodating and I believe this is because he "hears" my concerns.
