My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

My goal is to provide personalized care to my patients both in the office and in hospital settings. As a board-certified internal medicine physician with more than 22 years of experience in both inpatient  and outpatient medicine, I am one of only a handful of doctors who provide care not only in the office, but also in the hospital when you really need continuity of care. I believe in taking the time to carefully listen to my patients’ concerns and developing an individualized plan for them to achieve better health and well-being.

I also believe in preventive care so that we can seek to achieve good health and wellness. I enjoy taking care of patients with complicated medical conditions, but my effort is to always try and improve wellness so that many chronic diseases can either be avoided or treated early with as few medications as possible. I have a special interest in women’s health, nutrition, preventive health and wellness. I speak fluent English, Hindi, Urdu and Bengali.

I look forward to being your partner in your journey so we may work together to reach your healthcare goals.

I’m so happy I found Dr Chanda and was able to have her as my Doctor as I have struggled ….Doctors said I was high risk and mainly just ordered medication and see me in Six months.
Dr Chanda did tests and spent time helping me get better and answered my questions and able to call her at home. I no longer go to an Urgent care as she sees me the same day if needed. I’m very happy I have… See more

Dr. Chanda was very helpful in managing my 10 medications after heart surgery. The main problem was with the Beta Blocker medicine. It was driving my blood pressure to a very low level that was incompasitating me. Once I stopped the Beta Blocker medicine my recovery went very smoothly.

from Jane in VA February 12, 2024 for Sandhya Chanda, MD

Dr. Sandhya Chanda is the best doctor I've ever had. She is extremely professional while being quite caring and kind. She is a true problem solver in her diagnosis of issues. She always makes herself available if not in person, by text. Her staff is excellent and extremely accomodating. I have referred several friends to her and her practice.

And that’s why I’m very happy with Dr Sandhya Chanda and her partner Dr. Gill for primary care. I shared with you years ago that as a Geriatrician, I could not make a living taking adequate primary care of Medicare patients. As the founder of 7 clinician Internal Medicine practice we could only afford to have 33% of the practice be Medicare/Medicaid.

I first met Dr Chanda as an Emergency Room Physician who seen me many times and was wanting her to be my physician as she was so caring and ordered many tests to find out what was wrong. A few years later I was able to join her practice and I am so grateful to her as she listens and is very caring. All Doctors said I was high risk and I was but Dr Chanda was encouraging and admitted me to… See more
