Dr Winston has a well deserved reputation for being a great diagnostician. He is very accessible, has a wonderful staff, and we both consider him the best doctor we’ve ever had. He takes time to consider our symptoms, gives us proper recommendations for treatment and includes alternative remedies. His bedside manner is excellent, and he also has a fine sense of humor. Best health care… See more

My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
I have been practicing in the Fairhope Community for my entire 22-year career. I work, play and pray here and with MDVIP, I feel that I will have the opportunity to continue to do this. Most people agree that their physicians are competent and knowledgeable, but they are unsure that their doctor really knows them. It takes time in the office to really get to know a person, and MDVIP will allow us to spend the time together that is a necessity for this. We can work together to forge a plan of healthy living and be able to uncover the issues that could cause potential health issues later. If illness or injury do occur, take comfort in the fact that you have a partner that is available, knows the medical community, and most importantly, knows you!

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Winston
In 2020 I was taken to hospital and remained in ICU for several days , my health deteriorated , but because of
Dr. Stephen Winston’s persistence to determine and diagnose my condition
His dedication and expertise saved my life .
My husband and I decided to take a leap of faith and go live on a boat. We carefully planned for 3 years to make this happen. We sold our home and most of our belongings and bought a Catamaran. We educated ourselves so that this transition would be as painless as possible. How do we get mail with no address? What are the kids going to think? Where do we sail? Can we leave the country? What if… See more
As one that has been blessed with minimal health issues throughout life, aging and health issues are two unwelcome new friends. As I relocated to the Alabama area I found it difficult to get quality time and attention with Health professionals as each seemed overwhelmed and just too busy with the large number of patients. And then the Covid years and the distance from all loved ones and health… See more
In Dr. Stephen Winston’s office I found an unexpected sanctuary. Over the years, Doctor Winston has become more than a physician; he's a confidant who understands the intricate weave of life's fabric and its impact on health. Each visit with him goes beyond the usual medical checkup. He sees through the physical symptoms, delving into the emotional and psychological realms that define our… See more

Dr. Steve Winston of MDVIP Fairhope guided my broken body and soul back to health! With compassion and without judgment, he listened to my concerns and put me on a journey to wellness. When I arrived to Dr. Winston's practice, I was obese and knee replacement surgery had been recommended. That was me, at 55 years old. With baselining lab work, annual two hour meetings going through… See more
On a Wednesday morning back in 2017, I felt an unusual/unfamiliar pressure in my chest. No pain, numbness, nausea, etc ... none of that ... just pressure. I came unannounced to your office, and the front desk checked me right in. You did an EKG, and said it looked normal. Then you said, to be safe, you were going to "ruin my day" by sending me over to the cath lab, which you did. A couple of… See more
Jim and I began our association with MDVIP when we lived in Roswell, Georgia and absolutely LOVED our doctor who we had even before he became part of MDVIP. (We went to him for about 25 years.) We knew that our decision to retire and move to Orange Beach, Alabama would entail finding a new primary care physician. We were concerned that we might not get the same quality medical care that we had… See more
Dear Dr Winston,
Thank you for your support both medically and emotionally.
I remember when I received a letter that told me I had cancer. I had no cancer doctors, my gynecologist didn't want to talk to me because she didn't know all of the details of my particular cancer. Being diagnosed with the "Big C" is bad enough, but not being able to find a doctor to… See more
