My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

I have enjoyed practicing internal medicine in the greater Florence and Pee Dee areas of South Carolina for over 30 years now. I love what I do and enjoy the relationships I have been able to form with my patients and their families over the years.

The MDVIP model of personalized healthcare, often compared to concierge healthcare, has enabled me to spend more time with my patients and offer timely appointments, including same-day visits when needed. As a private doctor, I am also able to make house calls for my home-bound patients and be available during hospitalizations. I still admit and care for my patients at McLeod Regional Medical Center and the Carolinas Hospital System. This is rare in today's healthcare environment and what makes my practice so unique.

As a primary care physician, my goal is to prevent disease through wellness care and to manage complex chronic health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, liver disease and lung disease when they are present. I strive for all of my patients to enjoy healthy and happy lives.

In addition to being board certified in internal medicine, I am a certified hypertension specialist and enjoy the challenges of treating complex and resistant cases of hypertension (high blood pressure). I have taken special training in adult echocardiography and have been certified by the American Society of Echocardiography as a testamur in echocardiography. This knowledge also helps me to better manage complicated cases of cardiovascular disease.

As a lifelong student, I have placed an emphasis on medical treatment based on current science and clinical trials and continue to study and read medical literature to stay abreast of current medical knowledge. I was valedictorian at the Medical University of South Carolina and went on to complete internal medicine training at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. I have been named to the list of Best Doctors in America® for

Just wanted to thank you Steve for keeping me going. I think I was one of your earliest patients. It has been a great ride. Hope I can hang in there a while longer and will, with your great help. Thanks also for keeping Jessie going along with me.

Dr. Ross is very caring, concerned, patient and much more. He never rushes and lets you know of his interest in your well being, both physical and mental. I cannot begin to tell of the comforter I feel knowing he is easily accessible. The expense of MDVIP is well worth being a patient of Dr. Ross.
