My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
It is my goal for you to feel respected and, therefore, heard. Every great medical professor has taught that listening to you is the key to every aspect of your medical care – from diagnosis to treatment. I want to listen as you describe your symptoms, your hopes, your dreams, your life goals. I want to hear all about your loved ones, your hobbies and, yes, even your favorite teams. I want you to know that behind my desire to be a great listener is a desire to hold your valued trust, as I believe the currency of a great relationship is trust.
I once made a patient laugh when I told her, “Let me worry for you; I am good at it.” Beyond listening, I want to use all my internal medicine training and experience to diagnose and solve what might be wrong clinically. I want you to feel secure knowing I have considered all the possibilities and what is needed; labs, tests and possible procedures will allow us to illuminate the problem and proceed with a solution. I consider it a privilege to “worry about you” as I would my own family. I want to be your true advocate in a medical world that is not always easy to navigate.
I want us, together, to make decisions for your ultimate good and well-being. Having carefully listened to you and considered the possible problems and solutions, I want to give you unbiased, up-to-date, practical medical choices. I want to explain, based on your history and interpretation of your test results, what choices you have and why I might recommend certain options. (Some choices we may make together may be standard or routine, while others may show a preference you have concerning less conventional medicine.) I will work hard to keep you informed about what is known/unknown, true/untrue, proven/unproven, as we forge ahead to help improve your health and wellness.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Cummings
Dr. Tim Cummings has encouraged us to eat healthy. Sometime after we joined Dr. Cummings practice, He suggested to us (my wife & I) that we add more fruits & vegetables to our diet. We started doing this, and we are quite amazed sometimes when we realize the amount of fruits and vegetables we now consume. There is no question that this diet change has had a very positive health benefit… See more

We just joined Doc Cummings after our other long time MDVIP retired. It was hard to have to search for another doctor after so many years. We were 20 & 30 years with the same doctor. I'm looking forward to my first annual physical with Doc Cummings and his staff. So far they have been just outstanding - so warm and friendly. See ya soon :)
In Nov., 2016, I suffered from severe Dysphagia following a choking incident. After hospitalization, consultation/treatment by 6 different specialists (gastro, ENT, Neurology, etc.) and my former PCP, I received little to no relief, helpful diagnoses or progress.
A friend referred me to MDVIP and Dr. Cummings in Feb., 2017. He was the first doctor to demonstrate genuine care for my… See more
I have been going to Dr Cummings for around 20 years. Would not go to anyone else!
Dr. Cummings and staff are exceptional. The personal service and attention are unique. Never to be found in other family physicians offices.
Dr Cummings is always willing to take his time with you to help you understand how he will provide the best care for you.
Dr. Cummings is great. Im a new patient and have had a great experience so far.
dr. cummings has helped with a couple of trips out of the country. my husband and son have asthma and we went to high altitudes and then of course we ate at out of the way places so he helped with all the meds we needed...inhalers, stomach irritation that could happen etc. We felt very fortunate to be able to contact a doctor and get a quick response and all the help he provided with out the… See more
If he suspects a problem he gets to the bottom of it as fast as possible--whether its sending you to a specialist or x-ray. This is the first time for me that a doctor ever called me with the results. Wonderful experience that's all I can say.
