My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

It is my belief that each patient is a unique human being. The science of medicine aims to diagnose and treat disease. However, the art of medicine encompasses knowing the person who has the disease and never losing sight that we are treating an individual, not a disease.

My approach is to personalize medical care to fit the patient’s specific circumstances, and to pay acute attention to the whole person. I recognize that achieving wellness is a collaborative effort, and that the patient’s input and goals are essential to successful outcomes.

The journey of healthier living can be reached by combining medical expertise with personal knowledge. My hope is that we will take this journey together.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Lie

from Stephanie in TX March 10, 2020 for Chiao Yung Lie, MD

Last year when I first met with Dr. Lie I was not healthy enough to enjoy even sedentary activities. With her care and support my life has improved dramatically. I can do most anything I wish, except some of the most strenuous activities I previously enjoyed. I expect that with her continued expertise that in another year I will be able to do absolutely anything I wish. This is a miracle for… See more

I have been a patient of Dr. Lie's for about five years and treasure her beyond words. She is caring, thoughtful, but can be stern when she needs to be....giving good counseling without pushing you in any particular direction. However, she is truthful and tries to find options when I am uncertain. Her personality brings me comfort alone....it's the BEST medicine anyone can ask for… See more

Dear Dr. Lie,
You have made a big difference in how I think about my health. I so appreciate your giving me the Duke Univ. glycemic food lists for low, moderate, and high. Following that guide, I not only reduced the sugar in my body, I lost pounds and gained energy. I also appreciate your allowing me to trade regular exercise for pills to stave-off bone loss. I'm much better at… See more

from Michael in TX March 4, 2018 for Chiao Yung Lie, MD

Dr. Lie became my primary almost 20 years ago via a connection of my previous girlfriend. Over that time she has been exactly what I wanted in a PCP: outstanding knowledge, awareness of my history and goals and common sense counsel as I age. I have had the good luck of great health over the two decades.
I trust Dr. Lie as a great resource, assuming I follow her advice and do the work… See more
