In honor of you and Doctor's Day, I'm going to share my story. Please understand, this is not an easy thing for me to do but I feel That it is important. Let me begin by saying that I have respect and appreciate everything that you and all of the staff have done for me. Sensenbrenner Primary Care is an exceptional Practice. You will never know how hard it was for me to walk through that door the first time! I had had a very rough 2 1/2 - 3 years, I was miserable, in a lot of pain, had lost my faith , my trust in doctors. Why? This is the hard part, but here goes, short version. I worked at a store front YMCA, 5 mornings a week, loved it! Then, beginning somewhere in 2005, I started to not feel very well, nothing that I could pinpoint. It started out with stomach issues, headaches. By I think February, March or so 2006 I was in awful shape. I had a constant headache, no matter what or how much of whatever I took. I felt so bloated. I couldn't eat or drink anymore. I worked at the Y, you have to work out. My legs cramped up within seconds of getting on a treadmill. Forget an elliptical machine! The day came where I could just no longer walk at even a slow pace on a treadmill nor do the few weight machines that I was trying to keep up with. I sat down on a machine one day and just did not have enough arm strength to push it up. Had to decide Cardio or Weights?? Chose Cardio, Felt I needed it more. Even if it hurt like hell. Social aspect, gossip hour also. Doctors never mentioned or looked for a DVT. It was accidently found in 2009 during a CT Scan for other abdominal issues. I spent a week in the hospital. I had not felt that good in years and I was stuck in a bed! Well, to put an end to the story. I had 2 doctors that I was counting on to figure out what was wrong with me. One of which I had been with for quite some time. When they wouldn't, not couldn't help me they said it was all in my head. They terminated my care. I really did not know what I was going to do. Except, first and foremost get myself well, or at least better. First, stop taking almost every drug I was on. I ditched probably 14-15 Drugs. I felt so much better within a month or two! Second find a new doctor. That process took a while! Now the best part! One day at the Y during social hour B Traylor mentioned to me " Try Dr. John Sensenbrenner, you would like him." So I made an appointment. Dr. Sensenbrenner has not only been good TO me, he has been good FOR me. He has given me back that faith and trust in my doctor that at one time I didn't know if I would ever have again. I don't have to question if he cares I KNOW HE DOES! I can not thank him enough for the difference that he has made in my health. Being Diabetic, it is my life he gave back. I am also thankful for every one at his office. They all go above and beyond! HAPPY DOCTORS DAY With much appreciation,
