I was blessed with a son, our only child, at the ripe young age of 41. I have always told my son, on my way out the door to exercise, that, "Daddy was working to keep a healthy heart, so he can still play with you when you get older."

The problem was, I didn't do this very often. I also ate too much, ate poorly, and drank too much. Daddy did NOT have a healthy heart.

Dr. Lafleur was frank with me when I started - are you COMMITTED to exercising, eating healthy (Paleo, at least), and maintaining sleep and mental health? THEN you can join my practice.

I run my own business, so most of my life is setting goals for others. No one does that for me - I have to set my own, and always have. BUT, it was so refreshing to have someone else do that! Someone else to be frank with me - you are NOT healthy. You are not morbidly obese and on the verge of a heart attack, but you are also NOT on the path to a healthy long life. You need to get it in gear.

I am 10% down in body weight since my interview day, I exercise regularly, and I have not knowingly eaten gluten in three years. I feel great, sleep well, and am handling work stress well. I enjoy communicating with Edward outside of his medical practice - we trade pictures hunting with our children each fall!

Oh, and I can keep up with my 12 year old!

Thank you, Edward! You've made me, a better me.
