A Friend’s Referral Calmed My Anxiety
Last September I called my doctor’s office for a prescription refill and to schedule an appointment. I was told that my doctor was out and I should look for another doctor. I called a nurse friend who told me the doctor was ill and not returning. Two weeks later, I attended his funeral. I was really shaken by this. He had been my doctor for 16 years. Your doctor doesn’t die, he retires, maybe if he wants to do so. What do I do? My doctor knew me, all my surgeries, my asthmatic condition, my aches and pains. I could call him to talk and see him whenever necessary. My friends knew I was upset and made some suggestions. Finally, my friend told me about MDVIP. She told me that they were not taking new patients but she would make a call. She told me to call the office to schedule a time to meet Dr. Schetman. I went to meet to see if I would be a good fit for this practice. Dr. Schetman and I spoke for at least an hour. He was low key, calm and totally reassuring. I felt that this would work for me and he agreed. I scheduled an appointment and was seen in a few days. After my appointment, I received Dr. Schetman’s notes by email. Totally unheard of and so welcoming for this nervous patient. I am so grateful that this practice took me on. The office atmosphere is so calm and efficient, the staff warm and knowledgeable. I am happy to have found a good fit with an excellent Doctor.
