I consider him a friend and a trusted healthcare professional.
Mine is a pretty long story that I will try to keep short. My first visit with Dr McGowan was on a Wednesday. I had not been feeling well. He and his nurse performed a number of test to try to determine the problem. On Friday morning I was in the ER. Dr McGowan was there by my side. Unheard of in these days of modern medicine. He spent over and hour with ER physicians and my family. The ER doctor decided I needed to stay over night for more test. Dr McGowan was there first thing the next morning discussing my situation with my family, doctors and and nurses. Talking about going the extra mile . So after two heart stints Im on my way to recovery. Dr McGowan goes way beyon what most of us expect in terms of PCP. He is there to help when and where he is needed. By phone, text and email. He deals not only with my physical issues but also takes time to explain the phycological aspects of dealing with coronary artery disease...which are many.
So only after a short physician/patient relationship I consider him a friend and a trusted healthcare professional.
