I love Dr. Miller! He has been my doctor for more than 20 years. I feel so fortunate to have a doctor who is knowledgeable and compassionate and knows how to talk to a patient. Just as important, he cares about the doctor-patient encounter and takes time to discuss my case and answer all of my questions. He is very accessible and on several occasions has talked with me after hours and prescribed needed medicine or given me information to treat my condition. The three situations I recall most are 1) I was having a bad day and started to cry and Dr. Miller let me sit in the exam room until I got myself together. Ill bet they needed that room for another patient but he let me stay in there and have this quiet time. 2) I had a severe URI with reactive airway and could not stop coughing in the exam room. He asked me to take 2 puffs on a rescue inhaler and almost immediately I felt my throat close up. He could tell exactly by my expression what was happening and very calmly said youre having a laryngospasm, it helps if you stay calm, it will pass soon, just breathe very slowly. So that helped so much. And he was right, the episode passed quickly. He told me he intentionally wanted to provoke the laryngospasm in his office so I wouldnt have it in my car driving home... And 3) I called him on a Saturday afternoon from the airport after an international flight. I was in bad shape and he said take a cab directly to CVS. I am calling in a prescription to treat you for bronchio-pneumonia.. He could tell immediately from hearing my voice what was wrong. Dr. Miller is the best!
