About Gordon K. Wang, MD
Welcome to my MDVIP-affiliated internal medicine practice. My goal is to build close, long-term relationships with my patients in order to offer personalized care and service. My family medicine practice size is limited. Rather than caring for thousands of patients like typical medical offices, as a private doctor, I see just a few hundred patients ensuring everyone a pleasant, unhurried experience. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices.
As I focus on prevention and wellness, I've seen a reduction in hospitalizations. Having the time to be proactive will benefit you in many ways, and it will help me achieve my goal of keeping you out of the hospital. If, however, you do require hospitalization, I am an attending physician at Bayfront Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte and will be there for you and your family during your stay.
I am board certified in family medicine, and my practice serves all of Charlotte County, Florida, including Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, Burnt Store and North Fort Myers.
My patients are well cared for beyond the confines of the office - in the hospital and community settings - as well as through online tools and resources available on their personal health website. My team and I are committed to healthy living and are ready to provide you with the proactive, individualized care you deserve.

More recently, very late one evening, I had an emergency requiring a visit to the emergency room. Dr. Wang offered his treatment plan by phone late that night and had to be awakened again very early in the morning by an ER physician seeking medical clarification. Dr. Wang's advice remedied my situation. Within the last year, a close friend of mine, who wintered in Florida, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Dr. Wang immediately took his case and provided excellent care. Among other things, Dr. Wang recommended and collaborated with physicians with specific knowledge required to further diagnose and treat my friend. Dr. Wang's compassionate care and expertise were exceptional and most sorely needed during my friend's months in Florida.
This doctor is incredible! He takes his time with you and doesn’t make you feel like he’s in a hurry to move on to the next patient. He’s easy to talk to, friendly, compassionate and makes sure you understand everything. My case is medically complicated and Dr Wang has gone beyond my expectations. I never expected to feel so good so fast. If you are looking for a great doctor, don’t walk, run to him! Let me also say, his staff is wonderful and so sweet, too!

He's very intuitive and persistent.
My mom broke her leg and he knew there was an issue. It took 4 specialist but he never gave up and he was right!
If you are out of town and need a prescription he will send it in to a pharmacy near where you are.
He takes his time with you, you are never rushed and he is interested in what is going on in your life.
His wife Sean is wonderful also.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
