Coordinated Cancer Care

A few years ago, I was diagnosed with melanoma -- the deadliest form of skin cancer. It was a terrifying diagnosis, and required me to navigate multiple providers (a dermatologist, a specialty surgeon), facilities (including an unfamiliar hospital) and information (lab results from biopsy and surgery). Dr. Bienert immediately became my melanoma "project coordinator" -- connecting with and collecting information from everyone involved with my treatment. She made me feel cared for on multiple levels. It is an experience I will never forget, and I will always be deeply grateful for Dr. Bienert's role in getting me to a new status: cancer free.
