There are three things that come to mind in regard to Dr. Okimura. First, her consistent encouragement to become much more aware of what I eat (through literature, video, and office visit discussions) has had a positive impact on me. Over the years I have changed my diet from lots of meat, junk food, foods with added sugars, and highly processed foods to healthy diet of tofu, veggies, brown rice, fruits, beans, and more, The literature and documentaries she shared has been especially useful because they explain how foods impact what goes on in the body, including foods ffrom my old diet and foods in a more healthy diet.

Second, although I have been very careful in regard to Covide (all shots/boosters/mask wearing), I somehow caught Covid (likely from travel/crowded airports). It took me two weeks to recover, and in that time I felt somewhat lonely. I couldn't join friends in outdoor events, separated myself from my wife, and spent a lot of time in one room. Dr. Okimura was kind enough within her busy schedule to call me to see how I was doing. I appreciate this. It shows that she cares about her patients.

Third, during office visits, she gives me her full attention and enough time to discuss health issues. I never feel rushed, although I am aware of time and that she has other patients.
