From formality to deep trust with Dr. Jessica Burgert

It is only natural that, on first meeting and then on first evaluation/examination, an older male patient would be formal with an much younger female physician. The questions we asked Dr. Burgert sought answers from her as much as they revealed my hopes and needs in a physician. Dr. Burgert was equally formal. There is nothing wrong with formality; it is a customary part of the early interactions between a patient and physician.

Over a rather short period of time, however, formality vanished and an easy rapport developed; she and I began to know each other as trusted and trusting partners in health; we even shared photos for grandchildren (mine) and children (hers).

Bottom line: I trust Dr. Burgert to make informed, evidence-based, individually correct and appropriate decisions and to advocate for me when I must see another physician. She is totally perfect as my physician. I could not be more pleased.

To boot, her nurses and office staff are competent and congenial.

What more can this old guy want? Nothing.
