The moment I point to would be when Dr. Phillips directed me to Dr. Campbell at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Phillips knows this, but as background, I've had Prostate Cancer that prompted my getting a Radical Prostatectomy followed several years later by Salvage Radiation. I then had a round of Bladder Cancer surgery. In talking to my Prostate Cancer doctor, Dr. McGovern at Mass General Hospital, he suggested that I get a 'CT' scan. My Doctor, Dr. Dancoff, at Summa Health Systems in Ohio who had treated me for the Bladder Cancer had not suggested that in my follow up exams. I asked him to schedule a 'CT' scan of my abdomen which he did. The results of that scan showed that I had a 'mass' on my right Kidney. Dr. Dancoff turned me over to one of the Summa Doc's for surgery. Since this was during Covid, I had a phone conversation with this doctor and was not comfortable with the conversation. That is when Dr. phillips steped in. She made some calls resulting in my going to see Dr. Campbell at the Cleveland Clinic. As my primary care Doctor she new the best place to send me and the quality of the care I'd recieve. That is the "Moment" that mattered more than others for me. Her knowledge of the kind of care available in North Eastern Ohio made a difference. Dr. Campbell at the Cleveland Clinic did the surgery on my Kidney and the 'mass' was cancerous. Subsequently, he did a second Bladder Cancer surgery. I continue to see him every 6 months for check ups on my Bladder, Kidney and Prostate. The only other cancer I've had where some skin cancers. I also see Dr. Phillips regularly for check ups and guidance on my health. So, her efforts on my behalf were clearly an important piece of my Cancer journey.
