In August 2020, my husband had just gone through Open Heart Bypass Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. We returned home for him to recover and as careful as he was, he picked up the COVID virus at the local rehab/physical therapy. Not long after that my husband who had been doing well from the bypass surgery began to experience symptoms that seemed like his surgery was failing. We contacted our doctor (Philip Maple) immediately and he had been staying on top of possible problems caused by COVID. He sent Don immediately to the lab to have a D-dimer test run. That answered the question as to why he was having these chest pains. His blood had thickened ("sticky blood" was the term used) and our doctor immediately prescribed a very strong blood thinner. Don had relief in a matter of days and recovered completely without anymore problems. We were so grateful to Dr. Maple for his knowledge and quick action to remedy the issue ASAP.
My husband was and still is able to walk a minimum of 3 fast miles up and down hills every day. His heart is once again doing well.
