November 2021 , I came home after having lunch with friends to find my husband cleaning up the driveway from the fall leaves.
What was peculiar was that he was putting all his tools away and had'nt finished the job. Very unlike him. I asked him what was wrong and he said ,he didn't feel well. We went inside and I took his blood pressure which was fine as was his pulse. However his color was ashen and he was sweating. I immediately called Dr. Legare. I did not want to go to the hospital if at all possible because we were in the middle of Covid. Dr. Legare was wonderful in calming me. He told me to hang up call 911 and take him to MGH in Boston. He had 2 stents already and a failing Aortic valve. Dr . Legare told me that often before the valve goes, heart attacks occur. I did what I was told. After some back and forth with the EMT's , they did take him to MGH. When we arrived at the ER a team of doctors were waiting for him. ( due to an alert by Dr. Legare). Within the hour of calling the doctor he was having another stent placed. This not only saved his life, but he had no heart damage.
Unfortunately 2 mos. later after a visit to Dr. Legare, something wasn't right. After a Nuclear stress test showed the stent was 90% blocked , he got my husband
back into the hospital. He had a 2 vessel bypass and a new aortic valve placed.
We were able to have a 80th birthday celebration thanks to Dr. Legare and all involved. We are very Blessed to have him as our MDVIP Doctor.
