A Trip to the Emergency Room

Last March I had not been feeling very well for a couple of days. I had my previously scheduled semiannual checkup already scheduled with Dr. Mark H. Gregory, so when I arrived at his office, he took my vitals and said he would like me to go to the emergency room at Missouri Baptist Hospital for a cat scan and some other tests. I was obviously concerned and was not looking forward to a long wait in the ER. Upon arrival, and to my surprise, the staff was ready for me and even called me by name as I entered the door. They were expecting me and I was immediately admitted. I was in my room hooked up to all the monitors and talking with the doctor in less than 10 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised particularly given the number of people in the waiting room. The good news is that all the tests came back negative and other than being a little dehydrated I was given a clean bill of health. An IV of fluids quickly made me feel much better and I was discharged in about two hours.

Dr. Gregory called me that evening to check on me. I told him the story of how quickly I was taken care of and how much I appreciated his help! I am confident that Dr. Gregory’s rapport with the hospital staff was the reason for my expedient care.
