I woke up early on a Sunday morning in Honolulu. I got out of bed, went to the bathroom, went back to bed and was checking my e-mail. Suddenly I had a sharp, intense pain, radiating from my left arm up into my neck. It hurt to breath. I texted Dr. Minton, who called back within a minute. I described my symptoms and Dr. Minton suggested I needed to go to the emergency room. I told him I would… See more

When I first chose Dr. Minton for my internist, I startled him by saying: "Doctor, I am counting on you to take me into my dotage." That was at least 25 years ago and now that I am 85 he has done so. In fact, Dr. Minton has said I might live to be 100. To which I have replied: "Doc, do you really think that is a good idea?"
