We met Dr. Johnston before he became MDVIP. He has always been different from other doctors. He generally wants to take time with you and see how he can make your health better. Most doctors herd you in and out like cattle but not Dr. J. He encourages the 3 month labs to look at the big picture of what is happening with your body. He takes time to understand what is going on with the patient, which is at the expense of seeing more patients which calculates to less revenue for him. He does research and attends conferences to look beyond the normal pathway of pills first and offers alternatives for better health for the individual. It's unusual to see a doctor not follow the main stream and focus on what helps the patient over their standing with peers. We come to Dr. J because he really cares about the patient first.

When I’m in my appointment, Dr. John makes me feel like there is no other patient more important than me, no where else he needs to be. Not only do I have his undivided attention, but he exudes a true caring nature, which makes it easy to share my concerns and questions. Recently I shared my addiction to diet soda all of my adult life and, without judgment but only his concern and the facts, he convinced me of the harm of aspartame, leading me to switch to full-sugar sodas, then eventually to none. He has also encouraged me to obtain a sleep study, noting the connection of sleep to brain health. He knows and shares much about the good health needs of my 60s age group. He is simply the best!
