About Annemarie Armani, MD

The Golden Rule is the principle of treating others as one would want to be treated. Over the past 15 years, I have taken that one step further by providing my patients with the comprehensive and compassionate care that I would want for my friends, family and myself. This has been my personal mission statement, which I believe my patients, family and friends appreciate.

My approach is about living one’s happiest & healthiest life, and one way that can be supported through wellness and prevention. Once upon a time, with my love for cardiovascular & metabolic health, I was offered a much sought-after cardiology fellowship. But even back then, before the MDVIP model was as widely known as it is now, I realized that my emphasis, as well as my strengths, really needed to be on helping people strive to stay well rather than waiting until the point of needing medical intervention. I have spent my energy on this: beyond being board-certified in internal medicine, I am a diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology, a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, and I am a clinical hypertension specialist. My areas of interest include diabetes and women’s health.

I love talking with and coaching my patients. My philosophy is that being a good doctor is not simply about prescribing the next medication; rather, I believe it is about caring for the whole patient physically, mentally and emotionally. I think you can’t have one without the others. I would rather take extra time to emphasize suggested lifestyle changes for patients to try to stay healthier, possibly avoid more medication, adopt healthier food/meal plans, exercise and move more and adopt stress management techniques. I think these kinds of lifestyle changes can help address conditions like high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, obesity and life stressors. I am a double-certified life/health coach, too, which I believe adds to my experience and knowledge in customizing care for my patients.

I love medicine and being a doctor. I always have and always will. My patients seem to appreciate this, but it can be difficult today to give more personalized care in the current medical system. As a testament to this, when I informed my patients of transitioning to the MDVIP model, I witnessed tears of joy, not sadness. I am excited for my patients, as well as myself, that we have more time to spend together

Great doctor but very disappointed in the increasing member fees to Goldman Sachs owner of MDVIP.

Goldman Sachs/ MDVIP takes 30% of my member fee ( for this doctor that amounts to $1000) while providing nothing in return. Reducing or eliminating this useless 30% surcharge would make this model much better.

Amazing doctor, I have been a patient through her office transitions and wouldn’t have it any other way. She is thorough, precise and up to date. She cares about you in a way that feels like family. I drive over 1.5 hrs to see her and will continue to do so. She is meticulous yet conservative approach to medicine; she is about wellness and if you are thinking of switching , you won’t regret it. Dr Armani is the best!

I became a patient of Dr Armani in 2017 in the Partners ( Mass General Brigham) office in Wellesley. This was after going through several primary care physicians who decided to leave their hospital practices and move onto concierge medicine. As a firefighter, we are exposed to numerous toxins that drastically increases our risk for cardiovascular disease and cancer above the general population and I wanted a doctor who would listen and acknowledge these concerns. When I first met Dr Armani, we spoke for over an hour and I can honestly say it was the first time in my experience, after leaving a doctors appointment that I truly felt I was heard. Dr Armani listened, gave guidance and ordered all the tests that was recommended for a person with my risk factors even though it wasn't part of the norm. She was and has been a true advocate for me and my health since our first meeting. I have had such a great, positive experience with Dr Armani that I have followed her from Mass General to Beth Israel Wellesley, Cape Cod and now Dillingham Internal Medicine. I am 55 years old and been exposed to a lot of dangerous stuff in my career and I am lucky to have Dr Armani in my corner and watching out for me and my family. The new office is fantastic, the staff is incredible and I wish Dr Armani and company all the best with the new practice.

Dr. Annemarie Armani is a remarkable physician: wise, skillful, insightful, compassionate, pro-active, wholistic, and astonishingly well read and on top of the latest research in preventive medicine and heart disease. I thought I would never again experience this level of focused attention on my unique needs. Now my exams are meaningful and thorough and never rushed. That she knows my medical history and has studied my file so carefully is amazing, and a profound comfort. Her energy is always aimed toward a solution, and her positivity and directness inspire me. I believe it is my great good fortune to have found her.

The most personalized physician care I’ve had in decades. Such a refreshing experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors who operate in the MDVIP models typically see far fewer patients than traditional primary care doctors. That gives them more time to develop deeper doctor-patient relationships that can lead to better outcomes. They can also offer conveniences that most primary care doctors can’t, including same- and next-day appointments. They’re available after hours for urgent matters. And they have time to focus on prevention. That focus begins with the MDVIP Wellness Program, which patients pay for with their annual membership fee.

Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.

MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
