My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

My goal is to be there for my patients when they need me. If they need to be seen in the clinic quickly, I will be there. If they are in the hospital, the nursing home or need me at their home, I will be there. I want to get back to the “old school” way of being a doctor, where the doctor is there on the other end of the phone when you need them. I want to be with my patients at every step of their life, and help them live longer, healthier lives.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Quarles

from Roger in KY March 21, 2023 for James D. Quarles, MD

It’s very reassuring to know my MDVIP is always just a phone call away. I trust his judgment because he diagnosed Parkinson’s Disease and I went to a neurologist and got the medications I needed. Thank you Dr. J D Quarles.

from Marilyn in KY March 24, 2020 for James D. Quarles, MD

I have been affiliated with Dr. J. D. Quarles, Frankfort Ky since March 11, 2019. He is very knowledgeable, thorough and caring. I am in my early seventies and have some chronic health problems, he has displayed a lot of patience while doing his best to help me through some of the issues I was having when I first came on board with him. We have come along way and I am in a good place… See more

Two years ago in January 2018 I thought I had the flu. I put off calling the doctor as I had gotten over the flu a number of times in the past. I ended up in the ER and was placed in the hospital. Doctor Quarles arrived in a short time and began tests and treatment. He determined I had bronchitis and I was released on the third day. His attentiveness, professionalism and the respect he… See more

I have been a patient of Dr Quarles for less than a year, but feel very comfortable with my decision to choose him for my primary. He takes the time to listen to concerns and gives thorough explanation of lab results , etc. I know I can trust his knowledge and availability.

from Elizabeth in KY March 11, 2020 for James D. Quarles, MD

We have been patients of Dr. Quarles for 5 years. We have annual physicals and follow up visits that include a thorough analysis and recommendations. We have emailed questions to Dr. Quarles and gotten responses within 30 minutes or less. When we call the office, we are greeted by Leslie, not a machine that tells us to call 911 with a 10 minute canned message. Rita, his nurse, is available… See more

I think I may have been the first to recognize Dr Quarles on National Doctors Day. When I stumbled across National Doctors day a number of years ago I thought who better deserves to be recognized on this day than my doctor, J D Quarles!! Had trouble finding a card but eventually I found one and dropped it along with a small gift by his office. The office staff hadn’t even heard of National… See more

in 2013, I was experiencing some pretty unpleasant medical issues. I had recently been wrongly diagnosed with COPD among other things by a Nurse Practitioner. I was seriously convinced that I was going to die -and felt so.

A close friend of mine recommended that I contact Dr. James Quarles. She said that he is the best doctor in the area. I called his office, he accepted me as his… See more

The last year has been a physical and emotional pinball machine for Kay and me. Dr. Quarles is a confident servant leader who communicates to inform, not impress and demonstrates professional attitude, appearance, performance and conduct in all he does. And, he accomplishes all that while remaining a great guy! If there's a better doc out there I wanna met her or him.

from Donald March 28, 2017 for James D. Quarles, MD

Dr. Quarles always listens to our health concerns, answers our questions with detailed explanations and provides a very friendly beadside manner during our visits. To me he is the best doctor we have every had as our primary care physician.
