Joseph King III, MD

I like to think of myself as a coach and my patient is the player. My goal is to provide my patients with the information and tools needed to be successful. Even if I do my part, the patient has to be an active participant by asking questions and executing the plan. We need to employ a team approach in order to be successful. Patients always have a choice in what they do, but I feel it is my personal responsibility to ensure my patients have the information they need to make an informed decision regarding their treatment and overall health.
                                            
I trained in internal medicine and pediatrics during my residency with the hope of taking care of patients ranging from birth to the elderly stages of life. Getting to know my patients and connecting with them on a deeper level is what makes my job truly rewarding. I enjoy being able to take care of the whole family. My interests include hypertension and adolescent medicine. I personally deal with hypertension and understand from a patient perspective how difficult it can be to manage. I have recently learned more about the importance of diet and nutrition, specifically sodium metabolism, and its overall effect on my daily blood pressure. Exercise and diet are the focus of my treatment along with medications. I hope to share this knowledge with my patients as it is my strong desire for each patient I meet to enjoy the benefits of good health and living. I bring this very personal and individualized approach to my interactions with each and every one of my patients. Practicing under the MDVIP model, which focuses on personalized healthcare, just makes sense.
